The First Minister stated today that some restrictions could now be lifted due to to the fall in the numbers of people being hospitalised with Covid-19.

All children should also be able to return school full-time after the Easter break.

Travel restrictions preventing people from travelling between regions in Scotland are also set to end on Monday, April 26.

If things go as planned it is expected that on April 26:

  • gyms will reopen for individual exercise, along with museums, libraries and galleries.
  • pubs, cafes and restaurants will be open outdoors until 10pm and sell alcohol
  • driving lessons can resume
  • up to 50 people will be able to attend weddings and funerals

A decision has not yet to be made on whether people will be allowed to meet indoors from April 26.

Ms Sturgeon said the situation would be kept "under ongoing review".
