A HAPPY union took place between Kemnay Reminiscence group and the Tuesday Centre in the Friendship room in the village hall this week.

Since Covid the Reminiscence group numbers had fallen off a bit so it was sensible to accept the invitation to join with the flourishing Tuesday centre.

At Tuesday's meeting Reminiscence group speaker Hamish Simpson gave a vivid presentation on the growth of Kemnay with particular memories of High street shops and dwellings.

Hamish gave a virtual walk-about down the High Street and encouraged his audience to look at the tops of buildings to learn more about their origin and purpose.

There were some lively rejoinders from his audience about who lived where and when.

His discourse covered over 100 years and well into the late 19th century.

The meeting was a decided success and plans are to continue this new amalgamation of groups with the next meeting on Tuesday, August 15.
