A COMMUNITY get-together in Gartly is returning this weekend, to unite the village with a full day of entertainment.
Returning after Pandemic pressures stopped the event for a number of years, the much-loved Gartly Gaitherin will return this Saturday (September 30).
A wide range of entertainment is on offer at this year's event, including music and song, Scottish dancing, poetry and story-telling.
Organised by the Gartly Community Association at Gartly Community Hall, a spokesperson for the group said the full-day festival, focused on "celebrating our local arts" would now become an annual fixture once again.
There will also be a new competition this year, taking place at 2.30pm, for the Tin Hut Trophy and a £10 cash prize.
Open to anyone, the winner will be the performer with a song or piece of music judged to be the best on this year's theme: The Sea.
The song or music can be an original piece or a cover.
Entry fee is just £1, with proceeds supporting a local charity, and the trophy will be up for grabs at future Gartly Gaitherins.
From 11am to 5.30pm, entry to the festival is free with refreshments available all day and a lunchtime menu between noon and 2pm.
An evening show will also begin at 8pm, with doors open at 7.30pm.
Featuring Bob Sharp's I belong to Glasgow project, exploring the songs, stories, humour and the city itself, with music and film, the second half of the show will feature the local Sir-Reel Clarks family band.
Tickets for the BYOB show, which will also feature a raffle, are available from Orb's Bookshop or at the door on the night, £10 Adults and £5 under 15s.
