Bennachie Centre hosts Grampian Postcard Club exhibition

COLLECTORS and browsers alike enjoyed a magnificent display of postcards and heritage books mounted by Grampian Postcard Club at the Bennachie Centre in Chapel of Garioch over the weekend.
This fascinating exhibition boasted over a century's worth of postcards.
Some of the postcards were topical, such as the section dedicated to the Royal family, and some were very touching, like a Scotston Moor picnic for ailing children.
The show was part of Scotland's Year of Stories 2022 and gave the visitors the opportunity to discover the moving stories behind the many vintage and contemporary postcards.
This lively club meets at the Masonic Hall in Kintore on the second Monday of each month and new members are always welcome for a no obligation visit.
It is an opportunity to meet new and fellow collectors from all over the north-east, to glean local postcard news and to learn more about the hobby and forthcoming Scottish postcard fairs.
Speakers from all over Scotland are invited to talk about collecting and how they got 'hooked' and a range of posctards are on sale at most meetings.
