Gordon MP Richard Thomson has highlighted a scheme from Sport Scotland which supports projects aiming to provide opportunities for people to get involved in and participate in sport and physical activity.

The Sports Facilities Fund(SFF) supports capital projects that create or improve places where people take part in sport and physical activity.

Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said: “This is a welcome potential source of funding for local clubs and sports groups at a time when financial support from local authorities is under pressure.

“There is a wealth of sports clubs and voluntary groups in Gordon Constituency who can perhaps access this funding source for projects which get people involved – or ‘re-involved’ – in sporting activity and I would encourage any interested body to have a look and see if they can benefit.”

Deadlines for submission of new Sport Facilities Fund applications are April 1 and September 1 each year.
