Inverurie Rotarian's Glee Club have helped to raise £1100 for war-torn Ukraine with a tour around the north-east's care homes.

Participating members travelled around the area including trips to Huntly, Portsoy, Kingswells and Inverurie to raise the funds.

The idea for the tour came after a presentation on Ukraine from Erik Avetisov which also helped to bring forward a Ukranian social event in Inverurie in January.

Mr Avetisov moved from the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv to Methlick with his family and started attending meetings at the Ythan Valley Rotary Club in Aberdeenshire last year and has spent considerable efforts in rallying support for Ukraine around the north-east.
