Gartly's Tin Hut to welcome far-flung visitors from the USA

THE Tin Hut is set to welcome long-travelling visitors from the United States to Gartly.

The Hoth Brothers, an American folk trio from New Mexico, will play the Tin Hut Sessions on Friday, June 23.

Boris McCutcheon, Bard Edrington V and Sarah Ferrel are in the group, playing guitar, mandolin, stand-up bass and banjo, combined with their impressive vocals.

"They are an act not to be missed," a spokesperson for the community hall said.

"We were fortunate to be able to book them, as ours is the only show they are doing in the north of Scotland."

The Hoth Brothers' music reflects the area of the USA that they come from and the people who inhabit it.

Their repertoire has country songs with spines, bluegrass, hill music and even a smidgen of western swing in the choruses. The group who take you through the deep wonders of the American West.

Drawing inspiration from the Appalachian tradition, they put the folk back into country.

Tickets are £12 or £5 for under 15s. Tickets are available from Orb Book Shop Huntly (cash only).
