Garioch Probus Club learn how motor racing and business relate

Garioch Probus Club learned how the various attributes of a motor racing team can help a business succeed.

The meeting opened with a clip of a Formula 1 race in Singapore.

He had used this tool to develop a small employer into the largest independent firm of chartered accountants and business advisers in Scotland.

It has grown the business on its people’s ability to get to grips with the needs of different clients.

Mr Machray drew out various needs of a racing team: motivation, teamwork, skill, development, training, efficiency, striving for improvement, supporting one another and listening to staff ideas. They all interlink to operating a successful business.

Senior former businessmen took to heart the comments made and thanked Mr Machray for his outstanding contribution to north-east of Scotland organisations involved in developing businesses. He was recently awarded an OBE for this work.
