This week, we go back to the Wizarding World in Hogwarts Legacy, and try to survive in Monster Outbreak.
Game of the week is Hogwarts Legacy on PS5, Xbox One and X/S, PC.
Finally, the muggles among us can go to Hogwarts and become witches or wizards.
If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter series then this single-player RPG adventure opens up the world in a way no other game has before.
Everything you’ve dreamed of doing – creating potions, getting into fierce duels, raising magical beasts and flying a broom – is possible.
What makes Hogwarts Legacy a cut above the rest is the sheer size of it.
The map is huge, with not just the castle and nearby Hogsmeade village to explore, but hamlets and towns far beyond.
Head into the forest and battle huge spiders, the undead inferi or gangs of dark wizards.
And if you decide you want to peruse your inner Slytherin, there are options to embrace your inner darkness too.
The possibilities are endless.
For Potterheads, it’s a must, and if you’re just an RPG adventure fan, it has many similarities to past games, with its own magical spin.
It really helps that it’s absolutely beautiful to look at, too.
Also out is Monster Outbreak on PC.
The greed of a king has unleashed a monster horde on the land… lots and lots of monsters!
As Yulia, the last remaining member of the Royal Guard, you must confront the monsters using all your skills, resources and monster knowledge, to keep them at bay and stop the Monster Outbreak.
A pixel top-down survival game, which has you exploring maps, collecting resources, and building your camp in preparation for waves of monsters.
Fight off the varied, and often strange-looking, monsters with your weapon of choice (sword, axe, hammer or bow), and then collect and prepare for the next wave!
The characters, both heroes and monsters, are cute and well-designed, making the gameplay, combat and exploring fun, and relaxing when accompanied by the beautiful soundtrack.
On the negative side, the controls feel a bit clunky, as does the movement of your character on screen, which can lead to frustration when building your camp and setting up, but you do get used to this as you progress through the game.
