Game of the week is Blood Bowl 3 on PC.

Building on the love for the original tabletop version of Blood Bowl, Blood Bowl 3 has brought to life everything you could wish for.

Putting you right in the sport, with TV coverage, sponsors, adverts and all things American sports in a fantasy environment, you pick your race from one of your favourite Warhammer factions.

Then, draft your players, register for a contest and dive straight into this iconic death sport!

You can even create and customise your own players, and hire cheerleaders and coaches to help in your quest to crush the opposing teams.

With graphics and animations that make you feel like you’re in the game, and detailed cinematic sequences of vicious fouls, blitz blocks, and endzone celebrations adding to the brutal matchday atmosphere, you can’t get much closer to the action.

The turn-based gameplay allows you to plan and execute your strategies, with the twist that one incorrect dice roll could cause a turnover and scupper your plans.

All this – plus playing in epic stadiums that are brilliantly styled, based on the home team, Blood Bowl 3 is a great video game adaptation.

Chef Life Simulator.

Also out is Chef Life – A Restaurant Simulator on PS4/5, Switch, PC, Xbox S/X.

For the fans of Cooking Simulator and The Sims 4 Dine Out comes the arrival of Chef Life – A Restaurant Simulator.

A totally absorbing simulator game that takes you through the daily life of a chef opening a new restaurant.

From learning new dishes, training staff and ordering stock daily, all the skills are there to be acquired.

Not satisfied with cooking?

You can redesign your kitchen and restaurant.

Each skill is introduced via the menu, and there are prompts (if you need them) in the top corner, and time travel when you’ve got all your morning prep done.

Not a quick game, but definitely a session play, and the time evaporates as you stir your sauces, chop the vegetables and order your staff around.

Rounding out this weeks releases is Company Of Heroes 3 on PC.

Company Of Heroes has returned with a third instalment, a compelling take on the Mediterranean theatre of World War II.

The single-player campaigns, of which there are two to pick from, are huge, boasting sprawling maps and spectacular battles.

There are a few bugs that stall progression, making that first playthrough frustrating when you encounter one.

However, it doesn’t render the whole thing unplayable, and if you can hop over those blocks, there’s lots to get stuck into, whether it’s building armies, capturing cities or engaging the enemy in fierce battles.

As well as the engaging solo campaigns, there’s a barrage of multi-player options that offer enough variety to please new and veteran players alike.
