Ellon Meadows Football Club's under 13 team has received a financial boost.

The players and coaches were presented with £200 by Paula Coatesworth from G Burgess Co-op Funeralcare and her colleague Barbara Last Ellon’s Co-op member pioneer.

Team coach Andy Naylor said: "We were pleased that one of the boys’ mums got in contact with the Co-op food and funeralcare to seek funding.

"We are just delighted with the money from the Co-op which will be going towards training jackets to keep the boys warm whilst training during the colder winter months.

"The team has just changed leagues from nine-a-side to 11-a-side and they all look great in their Ellon Meadows FC football strip."
