A north-east salon which has a long history in Inverurie has seen ownership pass into the hands of its latest owner who started her own career within the same building.

House of Jules on North Street is run by Julie McKendrick and her team along with a number of independent stylists,

As Julie explained: "30 plus years ago I started out working for Nancy Thomson (Mundie) and Valerie Cruickshank when the business was known as Images.

"We worked together for several years and all went on to pursue our own hairdressing careers.

"For Nancy that included taking over the business and operating it successfully as Soul Hair and Beauty for over a decade.

"When the business came up for sale in April I decided the time was right to take it on.

"It's gone full circle as I now have 12 stylists renting chairs in the salon, and that includes Nancy and Valerie is now assisting us in the business and its great to be working together again".

On Saturday, the team and their partners held a special celebration to mark the official opening of the business.
