Gordon Schools pupil Mark Paterson (15) was first in Junior Class at Strathbogie Ploughing Match.

Hosted by the Strathbogie Junior Agricultural Club, the contest took place on Saturday, December 3, with 14 competitors.

Mark, who helps out with his family's business, Westerton Farm, took first in juniors as well as Best Looking Plougher.

First in the senior category was Euan Cameron, who also took the overall prize.

Mark was in the Huntly Express last month for winning North of Scotland Kart Club Championships at Golspie.

His proud grandfather, Jim (87), is extremely proud of Mark's latest win with his ploughing skills.

"It's such a great achievement," said Jim. "My father was a champion in this field too, so it's nice to see Mark carrying this on for the family.

"For him to come first in his class is just amazing."
