The show is written and performed by Maria MacDonell and is based on a series of real letters from a 1900's transatlantic love affair.

In the 12 years before World War I, Highland seamstress Miss Willamina Lindsay received letters from a young man who had left his Highland home of Glenesk to seek his fortune in the Canadian goldrush.

The letters were found hidden in a sewing box at the Glenesk Folk Museum during its renovation nearly a century later. The letters form the heart of the show which mixes storytelling and live music to provide a fascinating snapshot into working class glen lives.

The show is based on the real life letters of a 1900's transatlantic love affair.
