Support charity Friends of Anchor are calling on participants for an ambitious fundraising event in June.
Their goal is to get partitcipants to cover the full distance of the perimeter of the north-east of Scotland – including Aberdeen and Shire, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
These are the areas where they provide support and funding for oncology and haematology patients, and they just happen to be filled with stunning scenery and picturesque walks.
If you were to take a map and draw a big circle around the five areas they serve, it would measure an epic 2600 miles – so that’s the distance that has been picked for a special Going the Distance challenge which will be running for the month of June.
Fundraisers can rally a hiking squad, lace up those running shoes or jump into the saddle to help reach the goal while re-discovering the beauty right on our doorstep.
You can even strap on your rollerskates, use your scooter or count your steps from the comfort of your living room or garden.
A suggested donation to support this appeal and get involved is £10 per individual or £20 per household.
All our participants will be invited to join a dedicated online community and be part of a Distance Diary.
They will be sharing weekly motivational tips, mileage and fundraising updates and lots of highlights. ⭐️
All of the entry fees and any money raised going directly to the cause.
