KEITH'S Friendly Fest made a triumphant return this weekend.
After a four year absence, the popular Keith music festival returned to Kynoch Park with a buzzing crowd coming out to enjoy the long-awaited event.
Leanne McHardy from Keith said: "It's definitely good to see it back. I have really enjoyed seeing a lot of local bands and there's a good mix of different types of music. The weather is perfect and it's great to have something local like this."
The event was the biggest Friendly Fest to date, with a record breaking crowd attending the event and organiser Russell Aitchison was delighted to see the festival return to such a great reception.
He said: "It feels great to be back, we couldn't have asked for better weather or a better day and to return like that after a four year hiatus is incredible. The whole team that works on the festival has put in so much effort, and everyone is just delighted.
The festival had lots of local talent and a diverse range of music performing throughout the day and although the festival's headline act – Livin Joy's Janice Robinson – was unfortunately unable to attend, it did not seem to dampen the crowds enjoyment.
Russell said: "We were initially gutted with the news that Janice wouldn't be able to appear, she was stranded in a UK airport and was trying her best to get to Keith but it just wasn't possible. Fortunately all of our other headline acts offered to play longer, they just did a brilliant job and the crowd seemed to have the time of their lives.
He added: "There was such a positive vibe there from the minute we opened the doors on Saturday, the atmosphere just out of this world. Everyone had a great day and a big smile on their face the whole time, it was absolutely electric."
