The event, on Tuesday, October 3 between 10.30am and 11.45am, will put those looking for support face-to-face with services who can offer expert advice.

Organised by Moray Pathways and Opportunities, a joint effort from north east employability and training organisations, the workshop at Gordon Rural Action on Gordon Street has been timed to coincide with Challenge Poverty Week.

Speaking at the event will be representatives from Gordon Rural Action, Grampian Credit Union, Home Energy Scotland and Social Security Scotland.

A Moray Pathways spokesperson said the available advice could help those in need to manage "the most challenging part of the year", with the organisations involved keen: "to help you help yourself".

"Whether our customers have been caught off guard by higher bills and payments, uncertain income or the loss of a job, this workshop will help customers find a way forward and take the first step towards getting on top of things," the spokesperson said.

"As part of Challenge Poverty Week which falls in 1st week of October, we have arranged a Cost of Living Workshop where different partner organisations will deliver sessions that can help customers during the most challenging part of the year.

"Anyone wishing to speak to the partners after the presentations are more than welcome."

The spokesperson also encouraged organisations whose service users may benefit from this Workshop, to book a slot by emailing: jcpmoray.employerandpartnershipteam@dwp.gov.uk.

Organisations which could participate in the workshop were also encouraged to email Moray Pathways and Opportunities through the above address.
