Fourth week without coronavirus-related death in Moray and no new cases confirmed

NO new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Moray, with the area also confirming no new deaths for the fourth straight week.

The total number of confirmed cases in Moray since the outbreak began remains 87, with 20 people having died with the virus.

One death was recorded by the NHS Grampian health board between July 5 and July 12, taking the total number across the region to 259.

Of those, 122 were in Aberdeen City, 117 were in Aberdeenshire and 20 were in Moray.

Five new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across the Grampian region, taking the total to 1432. A total of 29 people are in hospital, with fewer than five in intensive care.

Scotland-wide, 13 people died with coronavirus between July 5 and July 12, taking the total to 4187, according to NRS figures. These numbers include all deaths where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate, even if the person hadn't tested positive for covid-19.

The Scottish Government's daily update showed 2490 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus.

This means there were no deaths confirmed in Scotland this week where the patient had tested positive for coronavirus and died within 28 days.

In total, 308,046 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs and regional testing centres, with 289,673 negative tests and 18,373 positive. A total of 4132 have been discharged from hospital after testing positive.
