The charity is presently based in the town’s Blackhall Industrial Estate, running a popular community café and a kitchen.

Its origins date back to 1995 as a project within the Harlaw Day Care Centre in Inverurie where it was set up as a way of getting the centre users involved with the preparation of simple sandwich lunches for the staff and other centre users, together with the running of a cafe at the West Church Inverurie one day a week

Following a pilot project in 2000 Fly Cup Catering Limited with charity status was created to operate a training and business project for people with disabilities.

Based at several locations over the years as its demand increased in July 2012 Fly Cup Catering relocated to new leased ground floor premises at Blackhall Industrial Estate in Inverurie bringing all services under one roof.

Further upgrades as work have taken place at the premises and in 2020 Building 2 was bought, securing the future growth opportunities for the organisation and to continue to accommodate this increasing need the adjacent Unit 1 was purchased in March 2023 which was previously home to Becs Inclusive Soft Play Centre.

Plans submitted to Aberdeenshire Council indicate plans to turn this unit into another kitchen space with a designated bakery area for their trainees allowing an addition 20 training places per day, Monday to Friday supported by a further six additional training staff.
