Inverurie Environmental Improvement Group and Inverurie Rotary Club have helped to brighten up the town centre.
As strict restrictions were put in place at the start of lockdown, this meant that Aberdeenshire Council were unable to attend to flowerbeds and grass cuttings and chose not to provide their usual community bedding plants this year.
With the easing of lock down restrictions the Inverurie Rotary Club and Inverurie Environmental Improvement Group wanted to show their support of the all the local shops reopening and worked hard over the weekend to give the town centre some fresh colour.
As local businesses need community support more now than ever, local companies have helped grow the plants including Watson’s Garden and Hardware Centre.
Summer bedding plants are planted in various places throughout the town centre and with the Town Hall as the centrepiece of the floral display, window boxes and hanging baskets are seen at the entrance.
John Glover, IEI chairperson, commented: “Inverurie Environmental Improvement Group are proud to support all the local shops and businesses by brightening up the Town Centre with a new floral display of hanging baskets and planters.
“The annual hanging baskets and summer bedding displays in the planters bring a lot of pleasure to Inverurie residents and visitors to the town.
“ We hope it brings some cheer as the Town’s economy slowly recovers as lockdown restrictions are eased.
“Staying safe and well is everyone’s primary concern just now”.
