Flooding update: A warning has now been issued for areas in Kintore and Huntly

Aberdeenshire Council which issued flood warnings earlier today for Stonehaven has continued to update local information as conditions deteriorate across Aberdeenshire.

With many roads now showing signs of flooding around Oldmeldrum, Fyvie, Kemnay, Newburgh and areas of Aberdeen City updates are being made at https://bit.ly/AbshireFlood

In addition to Stonehaven, flood warnings are now in place for parts of Kintore, Ballater and Huntly, and full details are available on SEPA’s website at: https://floodline.sepa.org.uk/floodupdates/

Update Sunday : As of 1pmAberdeenshire Council teams are continue to monitor river levels across the area, with expected peaks throughout this afternoon and this evening.

Communities in Ballater, Kemnay, Kintore, Inverurie and Ellon in particular should remain vigilant.

Sandbags are available for collection for local residents in Kemnay from the Birley Bush Depot and in Inverurie from the Harlaw Repair Depot.

Collection points are supported by local community flood groups and additional area collection points will be added where necessary.

Update Sunday 3.30pm: In Kintore flood water has now reached Northern Road.

Aberdeenshire Council is in the process of arranging sandbags for residents who require them which are available from the resilience container at the Village Hall.
