A number of new replacement ‘fixed-route’ bus services have been confirmed by Aberdeenshire Council ahead of next month’s withdrawal of the Ready2Go Around Inverurie digital demand responsive transport initiative.

Bus operators were recently invited to tender for the operation of Service 41 (Insch-Inverurie) and Service 308 (Turriff/Rothienorman-Inverurie) and for the continuation of the existing Service 22 (Inverurie Town Service).

The contracts have subsequently been awarded to Watermill Coaches Ltd as have the contracts for replacement of commercial Service 240 (Kemnay-Inverurie-Oldmeldrum).

Timetables for these services which commence on Saturday, April 1 (Service 22) and Monday, April 3 (Services 41, 240 and 308) can be viewed at https://www.watermillcoaches.co.uk/services/

Meanwhile, Ready2Go passengers are being asked to complete a survey so we can gather your views and evaluate the pilot project with a view to considering any future role for similar services in Aberdeenshire.

The survey closes on Sunday, April 2 and can be viewed at https://engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/ready2go-user-survey
