The Gartly Community Association is bringing the events to Gartly Community Hall to help fight isolation they believe has increased since the pandemic.

Raising funds for the Gartly Toddlers Playgroup, which meets in the hall, the first event will take place on Saturday, May 20 from 10am to 12pm.

The aim for the event is to fund soft play mats to improve the experience of toddlers attending the group.

Lynn Rutter, secretary of the Gartly Community Association. said: "Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our toddlers and strengthen the bond that holds our community together.

"Your participation and generosity will play a vital role in building a brighter future for Gartly.

"We look forward to seeing everybody there."

The May 20 coffee morning will feature refreshments, local craft stalls and tombola prizes donated by local businesses and individuals.

It will be the first community event since the opening event at the refurbished community hall, also known as the Tin Hut.

Coffee mornings will be held every two months and the Gartly Community Group has encouraged local groups reach out if they could benefit from the support.

Ms Rutter also said the committee plans to redevelop outdoor space around the hall.

"In addition to supporting the Gartly Toddlers Playgroup, we have exciting plans to revitalise our outdoor community space," she said.

"By landscaping the area, we hope to create an inviting outdoor environment that encourages residents to utilize and enjoy the space.

"The plans include establishing raised bed areas for growing herbs and vegetables, providing an opportunity for the toddlers to get involved in gardening activities.

"We envision a delightful play area for children and seating areas for those seeking a peaceful retreat to relax and unwind."
