Friday, August 23 at around 4pm saw a tractor catch fire on the westbound carriageway of the A98 just to the west of Arradoul.

A thick pall of black smoke could be seen from a distance as flames engulfed the vehicle. By-standers attempted to direct traffic as queues soon formed in the short time it took the emergency services to respond.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We were called to assist at around 4.10pm [to an incident on the] A98 two miles west of Buckie.

"The road wasn't fully re-opened until 9.40pm because of the damage caused by the fire. The council assisted with the clean-up."

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
