An iconic red telephone box located in a small Aberdeenshire community has been brought back into service, but this time offering an eclectic mix of reading material.
The Fintry Book Nook is a miniature library located in an old red phone box in the hamlet of Fintry.
Taken into care of the community when it was declared surplus well over a decade ago, it has sat empty awaiting a potential repurpose.
Now thanks to local brothers Ollie and Harry Fergusson, with the help of some other locals in the community it has been transformed into a miniature lending library.
Already internationally known for their double Guinness World Records, the boys have been involved in a long running project which sees them aiming for 500 adventures before they reach the age of 18.
Now aged 14 and 12 respectively they explained: "We had a lot of books at home that we wanted to donate, and converting the red phone box near us into a library was an ideal project to add to our adventure list."
On Saturday, work started in earnest with the box being cleared out and washed down, before work began on constructing the internal shelving.
And by Saturday afternoon the bulk of the work was done, with the shelves stocked and details of how to use the site added along with some new Book Nook graphics.
The box itself is due for a repaint in the coming weeks to return it to the classic red finish and has already started to gain followers eager to swap books.
