Film released to support Moray Firth marine mammal rescuers

A HUSBAND-AND-WIFE film-making duo have released a documentary to support a north-east marine conservation charity.

Greg and Felicity Chapman, from the Isle of Wight, travelled to Gardenstown to spend 10 days working and filming with the Cetacean Research and Rescue Unit (CRRU).

The charity studies and works to rescue whales, dolphins and porpoises in the Moray Firth and beyond.

The CRRU runs a voluntary veterinary rescue service for marine wildlife in distress.

It operates the only specialist 24-hour response team of marine mammal researchers in Scotland for live-stranded whales and dolphins.

Greg and Felicity have released their documentary, "Seeking Cetaceans in Scotland", on DVD, with £5 from each sold going to the charity.

The heart-warming and at times emotional two-part documentary shows the team at work.

Greg, a magician and entertainer, said: "We managed to raise about £700 for the charity in 2020 with an online campaign and events.

"We leapt at the chance to find out more about what the charity does, and to work and train with them.

"They had a hard year in 2020 but kept going, so we are very pleased to be able to help raise some money to help them keep up the great work they do."
