Festive welcome at Banff church's Boxing Day community meal

The River Church in Banff is set to hold its Boxing Day community meal this festive season.

Over the past decade the church has hosted the event aimed at bringing together those that are alone or struggling at Christmas.

It reaches out to those most vulnerable and isolated in the local community.

Each year the church has seen people from all walks of life gather for company at Christmas.

Volunteers give up their time to help serve at the meal.

This year's event will be held on Monday, Decemeber 26 from 1pm-3pm and it is free to attend.

Soups and sandwiches will be served and there will be good company and festive music.

People can confirm their place by contacting the church by Monday, December 19.

Several local businesses have supported the event over the years including Tesco; Premier; Fife Lodge Hotel; Banff Springs Hotel; The Galley; Town and County, Annie’s Cakery; Myrus Golf Range; Spotty Bag Shop; Refresco; Portsoy Ice Cream; Strachan Pharmacy, Co-op and Little Rowater.
