A north-east charity that supports thousands of people with sensory loss is hosting a spring fashion show in Aberdeen next month to raise funds for its important work.

The event on Saturday, May 25, aims to raise funds for North East Sensory Services (NESS), which helps people with sensory loss live as independently as possible.

The charity supports thousands of blind and deaf people, and those with visual and hearing impairments, across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Dundee, Angus and Moray.

North East Sensory Services will hold a fundraising fashion show.

The fashion show, which will take place in the magnificent historic surroundings of Elphinstone Hall in Old Aberdeen, will also include a pop-up shop offering huge discounts on high street clothing brands.

Tickets are priced at just £12 per person and include a welcome glass of prosecco, with doors opening at 1.30pm and the show starting at 2pm.

Afterwards, the audience will be able to browse and purchase items from a pop-up shop offering discounts of at least 50 per cent on popular high street brands.

The fundraising event will also include a raffle with a range of fabulous prizes on offer, with refreshments also available to purchase during the interval.

It is the second time that NESS has hosted a fashion show, with a previous event in 2022 attended by around 150 people and raising £2500 for the charity.

Funds raised at this year’s event will go towards the added value services that NESS provides, including its social groups and activities.

These services complement the charity’s statutory services and help people face and overcome challenges associated with sight or hearing loss.

Lorraine Middleton, community fundraiser and events coordinator for NESS, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting another fashion show following the success of the event two years ago, which brought catwalk style to the heart of Aberdeen.

“The pop-up shop afterwards proved very popular and this year there will be similar bargains on offer for people to refresh their spring wardrobes.

“It will not only be a fabulous and fun-filled afternoon but will also help raise vital funding for the services we offer to those with sensory loss.

“Our programme of fundraising events secures crucial funds for us to provide our life-changing services, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supports us.”
