Family's plea for bikers to attend Inverurie funeral
A local family is asking for bikers who are able to join a procession in Inverurie on Wednesday in memory of Michelle Reid.
Aged just 48, Michelle passed away two weeks ago and was well known in the local community for her work with charity Inspire.
In a message posted on social media son Kyle said: "My mum Michelle Reid died two weeks ago on Wednesday at the age of 48 and most of her biker pals are offshore and we were hoping to have bikes follow the hearse from the service at Massies Funeral Directors (Inverurie) through Inverurie and stop outside the Drouthy Laird pub where freinds and family will be waiting outside for us to stop and limiter the bikes, and then scatter off after following it through Inverurie up to Morrisons where the hearse will then take my mum to the crematorium."
He continued: "I have sorted some but was hoping to have a lot more to send her off properly and how she would have loved to happen.
"I'm doing this as I want my mum to have the best send off possible."
The service takes place at 1.30pm and those wishing to take part are asked to assemble at Massies by 1.45pm to head to the Drouthy Laird for approximately 2pm.
