Pupils from all years competed in a range of sports against eight other north Aberdeenshire schools, as part of the North Aberdeenshire Schools Sports Association (NASSA), and were named the overall winner for 2022/23.

The Gordon Schools students secured the competition's top results in Hockey and Badminton and second place in the Road Relay, Cross Country, Netball and Swimming categories.

Diane Harper, faculty principal teacher of health and wellbeing, said she was "extremely proud" of the school's team effort and that the school is "delighted" with the consistent results that won the contest.

"Throughout the school year, The Gordon Schools have had a very consistent performance across all events, with highest results recorded in Hockey and Badminton, finishing in first place and within the Road Relay, Cross Country, Netball and Swimming, finishing in second place," she said.

"As a school, we are delighted with the consistency of results in the NASSA competition and are extremely proud of the number of pupils across the school who have participated in events, all of whom have contributed to our success."

The sport events involved in NASSA are the Road Relay, Hockey, Badminton, Swimming, Basketball, Cross Country, Netball, Tennis, Golf and Athletics.

Schools are scored for their performance in each event, with the highest overall score taking home the overall winner honours.

Also taking part in the competition were schools from Banff, Ellon, Fraserburgh, The Gordon Schools, Huntly, Inverurie, Meldrum, Mintlaw, Peterhead and Turriff.
