A group of local am dram enthusiasts will be telling a tale as old as pantomime when they take to the stage this December with their production of Tom Whalley’s “Beauty and the Beast.”

Pitmedden and Udny panto group are performing their most ambitious show yet in the Dr Spence Memorial Hall, Udny Green on Friday December 8 and Saturday December 9.

As last year’s production of Puss in Boots sold out in early December, the cast have added a third show in order to allow more people to attend.

The group comprises 15 amateur thespians from across Udny and Beauty and the Beast will be their sixth show.

Panto veteran Jeannie Price explained,” Village panto is all about bringing the community together during the festive season to enjoy local gags and have a laugh at some familiar faces in various guises.

"This year’s show is full of the jokes, one liners and slapstick fun our audiences have come to expect, and yes, the Udny panto cow will be making another appearance.”

Performances will take place on Friday December 8 at 7pm, Saturday December 9 at 2pm and at 7pm.

Tickets will go on sale later in the autumn from local outlets, The Coffee Apothecary, Udny, The Craft Bar, Café 48 and the Coop in Pitmedden.
