A popular north-east garden centre which changed ownership back in August of 2021 could be set to expand its offering with the creation of a larger retail building and a new cafe.

Plans show an expansion of the site near Turriff.

The former White Lodge Garden Centre near Turriff saw founding owners Calum and Meryl Ross hand over the keys in August 2021 to new owner Barry McGillivray co-owner of Parkhill at Dyce to become Parkhill at White Lodge.

Since the handover the site has continued to attract customers from across the north-east and now holds a monthly market at the site.

Speaking at the time of the take-over Mr McGillivray said that having developed Parkhill into a popular destination business, there were long term plans to do the same in Turriff as he explained: "We've already spoken with other local businesses and a long term goal will be to add further to the site so that it also becomes a destination visit as well as supplying the needs of local gardeners."

And now formal plans have been submitted to Aberdeenshire Council for the erection of a new building on site which would double the retail space available and add a small cafe on site in a new single story building adjacent to the existing shop and of a similar style of finish.
