Events will explore Buchan's Bogs
The Buchan Bog Buddies programme with RSPB Aberdeen and North East Scotland is continuing over the summer with a series of public events exploring the nature to be found in the Buchan peatlands.
Booking for these free events is being co-ordinated by Dawn James from the RSPB.
Brilliant Bogs & Marvellous Mosses Discovery Walk - Tuesday, August 1 at 1pm, meeting at Balnamoon Croft, near New Pitsligo.
This will be a fascinating walk on Middlemuir, lead by Doug Gooday from Aberdeenshire Council Rangers Service with support from Dawn James of the RSPB, discover how important the bogs of Buchan are for wildlife, people and the planet,
The walk will take approximately 90 minutes and will largely be on a footpath.
There will be opportunities to explore the bog if you wish so wellies or waterproof boots would be recommended, you will get soggy feet otherwise!
Connecting and Calming - Sunday, August 6 at 7pm, meet at Balnamoon Croft.
Dawn from the RSPB will be leading a slow paced and gentle walk focussing on the value of connecting with nature.
Offering many invitations to use all your senses to relax and enjoy the peace and calm of spending time outside in a meaningful way.
This walk will last for 90 minutes.
Buchan Bog Explorers - Tuesday, August 15, 1pm-3pm Meet at Balnamoon Croft.
Come along for a fun family afternoon discovering nature on the bog.
We'll bring along all the equipment and information you'll need to investigate all the plants and life to be found at this time of year.
Wellies or waterproof footwear will be required!
