Star Trek Enterprise paid a visit to Grampian Opportunities premises, West High Street, Inverurie on Friday.

All the crew and their alien enemies were there thanks to a powerpoint presentation by devoted Trekkie John Burgess.

An Inverurie lad John can't quite remember when he first got into Star Trek - except that his father and uncles were all dedicated followers of the series and subsequent films

Once bitten by the bug he began building up a dossier of biographies and obituaries of his favourite characters.

Naturally the late Captain James T. Kirk has remained a hero.

John even found out that the T stood for Tiberius.

Mr Spock comes a close second.

He began collecting models of the Enterprise crews and hostile and not so hostile aliens and now has a large assemblage of the Enterprise team and aliens

He is particularly fond of one he brought along - a wee alien squeaky furry ball called Tribble.

Going by the success of his previous presentations he sees no reason why there shouldn't be an Inverurie Trekkie convention one of these days and he joined fellow fans at this year's I-Con, taking part in the cosplay parade.
