Enquiries into incident at Durnhythe Care Home in Portsoy ongoing after four appliances called to scene of 'small fire'

ENQUIRES are ongoing after a fire at a care home in Portsoy.

Four appliances, two police units and an ambulance were called to a "small fire" at Durnhythe Care Home on Wednesday evening.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed that there were no casualties.

"We were alerted at 4.42pm on Wednesday, December 14, to reports of a building fire at a residential premises on Durn Road, Portsoy," the spokesperson said.

"Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where firefighters extinguished a small fire. Crews made the area safe before leaving. There were no reported casualties."

Police have confirmed that enquiries into the incident are underway.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a fire at a property on Durn Road, Portsoy, at around 5pm on Wednesday, December 14.

“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue service and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
