Emergency crews work to contain Newmachar house fire

Units from Scottish Fire and Rescue have tackled a fire at a domestic property in Newmachar which was first noted at around 1pm at the rear of the building.

Four appliances and an aerial unit were sent to the scene of the blaze, with a short video clip being posted shortly after the incident occurred to social media page Fubar News which showed a large plumes of smoke coming from the rear of the building.

No injuries have been reported and crews worked for around four hours to contain the fire which led to the destruction of the roof on the single storey property and considerable internal damage.

Crews were confirmed to have used thermal imaging cameras and breathing apparatus to ensure the property was cleared and left the scene just before 5.30pm.
