To mark the centenary of the Ellon War Memorial, the Ellon and District Historical Society will be delivering a talk at Ellon Library on Wednesday August 23, at 2pm.

The talk will last about an hour and will focus on the local history and local people connected to the Ellon War Memorial. There will be an opportunity to ask questions after the talk.

The Historical Society have also created a fascinating display of artefacts and pictures related to the war which is on display until 1st September in the Ellon Library foyer.

This is a free event but booking essential and can be done here.

Residents of Ellon marked 100 years since the town’s war memorial was unveiled recently with a parade involving the Royal British Legion Scotland, Gordon Highlands Association and the 1st Ellon Boys Brigade.
