Ellon Sole Mates leader Debbie Roberston explained: "Ellon Sole Mates, are six formers leaders from Ellon Jog Scotland - Wednesday Group who have rebranded to include an inclusive walking group, something which a Jog Scotland group have never offered in Ellon.

"Our walking group consists of a 10 week structured programme building up to a "brisk" 40min walk on week 10.

"On completing week 10 participants would have the option to progress onto our Learn to Run Programme (previously Beginners 1) should they wish.

"As well as the walking group, Ellon Sole Mates also continue to offer their jogging group currently offering 5k, 8k and 10k options.

"Along well as the physical and mental wellbeing of our members, the social aspect of the group is also very important."

She continued: "The first Meet and Greet evening held in Ellon British Legion this week saw over 50 members sign up to the walking and jogging groups with a further 20 on the list receiving follow up emails.

"Over the next three months were looking to put at least four members through a Scottish Athletics Leaders Course at Aberdeen Sports Village as well as get some leaders and members through their CPR & De-Fib Training.

"With brand new red and green club t-shirts we can't wait to be out pounding the pavements of Ellon with our as well as old members."
