Ellon firm Phil Anderson Financial Services has recently appointed Cheryl Horne as a financial adviser.

With 25 years of experience in the field, she will be advising clients on all aspects of financial planning including pensions, investments, mortgages and protection.

She joins Phil Anderson Financial Services following a 20-year career at City Financial.

Mrs Horne, who is originally from Northern Ireland, said: “I first met Phil around nine years ago, and have watched his company go from strength to strength as he and his team have built a stellar reputation for putting their customers first.

"I am really enjoying my new role, and have found the team to be really friendly and welcoming.

"I plan to keep building up my business, servicing existing clients and bringing in new clients as well.”

Mr Anderson said: “We are thrilled to welcome someone with Cheryl’s experience and track record to the team.

"We have been really busy over the past year and that looks set to continue – we have no doubt that Cheryl will be a great asset in helping us to advise and support our clients going forward.”

The firm recently experienced its busiest January ever for arranging mortgages on behalf of clients, and with the re-introduction of 95 per cent mortgages it is well placed to meet the expected increase in mortgage leads in the coming months.

In addition to the increase in its mortgage business, it has continued to support an ever-widening customer base with its financial affairs across a range of service areas including investments, pensions, savings, mortgages and insurance, despite the restrictions and challenges of the past year.

The independent financial advisors currently has offices across the north-east, with a new office in the pipeline for Caithness, as well as a prospective move to larger premises for its headquarters in Ellon.

Mr Anderson, who established the business in 2010, also records a popular podcast series – The UK Personal Finance Show. From Nae will? Nae wise! to Tips to improve your credit score, he discusses a hot topic in personal finance in each podcast, delivering relatable insights and advice.
