Police appeal for information after one vehicle crash in Keith leaves pair (aged 93 and 87) seriously injured

ROAD policing officers are appealing for information after two people were seriously injured in a crash in Moray.

The collision involving a black Ford Fiesta happened at around 8.50am on Sunday, 4 December on Alexandra Road in Keith, near to the Chivas Brothers distillery.

The 93-year-old male driver and 87-year-old female passenger were taken to Dr. Gray's Hospital in Elgin for treatment to serious injuries.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.54am on Sunday, December 4 to reports of a car down a ditch on Alexandra Road in Keith, Aberdeenshire.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene and two casualties were removed from the vehicle and passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Sergeant Sarah Ritchie of the North East Road Policing Unit said that the police are keen to speak to anyone who has information about the crash, she said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of the collision and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision or who may have dashcam footage.

“If you can help please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1007 of 4 December, 2022.”
