An eight goal thriller rounded off Ellon United’s season as they travelled to take on Newmachar.

The away side made a fast start having much the better chances and took the lead on 12 minutes with a far post header form Scott Gray. 5 minutes later Ryan Shand made it 2-0 to the away side which was quickly followed by a strike from Dean McDonald to give the away side a 3-0 lead after 30 minutes.

The home side pulled one back just before half time to give a half time score of 1-3

The second half saw the home side grab a second 5 minutes into the half . Ellon substitute James Baino got the away sides forth goal after an hour and from then on the away side controlled the game. Further goal from Dean McDonald and James Bain saw the final score be a resounding win for Ellon Utd

Final score - Newmachar 2- 6 Ellon Utd

Club secretary Mal Turnbull said: “It has been a great season with a possible top six finish in a very competitive Premier League being a major achievement. The players have been exceptional in their performances and have worked hard in every match, win, lose or draw. On behalf of the Club Committee, we hope to see you all again next season when we start off our 2024/25 NRJFA Premier League and Cup campaign in July.”
