The 70th anniversary celebrations will take place in Mortlach Memorial Hall on October 7 and 8, with members both past and present set to celebrate the platinum year.

Chairwoman Wendy Milton said: “The club began at Mortlach School in 1952 and the first band to play for the dancers was led by the late Hebbie Gray, one of Keith’s best known sons.

"We have records going back 70 years comprising minute books, registers of members as well as a photographic library."

The party will kick-off with a Scottish Country Dance on Friday, October 7.

Colin Dewar and his Scottish Dance Band will get the country dancers reeling from 8pm until midnight and a special birthday cake will be cut to mark this milestone event by long-standing members.

There will be An Old Time Dance from 7.30pm until 11.30pm on Saturday, October 8, to complete the celebrations.

Again, live music is on the cards and will be provided by the Neil Galloway band.
