Spice of India Tandoori Restaurant and Takeaway clinched the coveted title of Best Indian Restaurant in Scotland at the SPICE Awards held earlier last month.

The event, which was held in Glasgow, is designed to recognise and celebrate outstanding Indian cuisine establishments across Scotland.

The accolade followed the restaurant’s earlier win as Best Indian Restaurant North where the business beat 10 rivals from across the north of Scotland.

Nominees were evaluated based on public votes and in person assessments by a panel of independent judges.

Syed Muthkim, the restaurant's founder, said: “We are truly humbled and honoured to receive these prestigious accolades at the 5th Annual SPICE Awards.

“Our journey has been one of passion and dedication in pursuit of excellence in Indian cuisine.

"This award is recognition of the hard work and commitment of our entire team and the unwavering support of our loyal customers to whom we are truly thankful to."

Syed has dedicated decades to perfecting Indian cuisine and, under his guidance, the restaurant has become a favourite for both locals and visitors from across the globe.

The event pitted the best of Scotland's Asian and Indian culinary scene against one another with over 1000 restaurants from across the nation participating.

However, Spice of India emerged triumphant as the undisputed winner having captivated the palates of the judges making it a truly memorable occasion for Syed and his team.
