Amey is undertaking work to complete drainage improvements on the A96 near Blackburn, Aberdeenshire from Monday, August 7 to Friday 18.

The improvements will see the replacement of a 1350m long section of the filter drain pipe travelling southbound between the Kinellar Roundabout and the Clinterty Roundabout on the Blackburn bypass.

The £190,000 scheme will address issues with the filter drain that is currently causing water to flow down the road.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out using lane closures between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.

The work, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will benefit more than 21,000 vehicles who use this route each day.

Please note that no works will take place on Saturday, August 12 or Sunday 13.
