Due to the requirement that a diversion must divert to roads that are the same class as the one that is closed, the formal detour is via Riverside Road, B9005 (Aberdeen), A90 (Aberdeen), B9000 (Pitmedden), B999 (Pitmedden) and the A920 (Ellon).

Access will be provided for emergency and vehicles requiring access to immediate properties but may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant to allow safe passage through the works.

A spokesperson for Aberdeenshire Council said: "We appreciate that working on roads can cause some inconvenience to users, but we would ask that you bear with us as we carry out essential repairs which deliver long-term benefits across our roads network. "
