Due to the lack of crossing places for the River Deveron, the normal eight mile journey will lead to a 21 mile long diversion route for vehicles via Banff - B9025 to A97, A97 to A98 Banff, A98 to A947, A947 to Turriff and A947 & B9025 through Turriff to C2s.

The alternative is a 16 mile diversion via Fortrie and Forgue with side roads not advised for large vehicles.
