Lawrence Chaney, the Scottish drag superstar best known for winning RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2021, has announced a brand new tour – and it is headed to Aberdeen’s Tivoli Theatre.

Chaney made history as the first Scottish and plus-size winner of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

This led her to release her very own TV show, Tartan Around with Lawrence Chaney, which was broadcast globally, and on BBC Three in the UK as part of her Drag Race victory.

In her brand new tour show Overweight and OVER IT! (currently running at Edinburgh’s Fringe) Chaney will have the audience in stitches talking about the trials and tribulations of being plus size: from dating and exercise to having to buy two seats on a plane but only getting one meal.

As Chaney puts it, growing up in the late 90s/early 00s, all TV and media portrayed people's bodies negatively.

The Tivoli Theatre show will be on Friday, November 10.

Since her Drag Race UK success, Chaney has also written a book and partnered with many well-known brands while appearing back on screens on some of the country’s favourite programmes including The Great British Sewing Bee, Celebrity Gogglebox, Saturday Night Takeaway and The Wheel. She is even the face of Irn-Bru.

Chaney picked up a BAFTA Award in 2021 in the Best Scot on Screen category.

Show promoter Doug Taylor said: "We are beyond excited to be bringing Lawrence’s show to the Tivoli. It’s sure to be a superbly entertaining night.

"Lawrence's shows are huge fun, she’s such a charismatic performer with an impeccable stage presence. It’s just going to be a brilliant laugh. Get along Aberdeen.”
