Doric comedies set for north-east tour
Scotland’s only Doric-language theatre company, Fleeman Productions is about to head out on a tour of the north-east at the end of June.
This is the first production from the company since Covid lockdown cancelled a planned tour in 2020 and is a double bill of two comedies.
Evie by Charles Barron features Yvonne Morton as a feisty Aberdonian considering her future, and Gosser’s Gala, a farce set at a chaotic village gala day, adapted into Doric by Sheila Reid from an Alan Ayckbourn play.
It opens in Midmar Hall on Thursday, June 27 then tours to Stonehaven Town Hall (28) and Acorn Centre, Inverurie (29). The following week it goes to New Deer (July 2), Tullynessle and Forbes Hall (3) , Dalrymple Hall, Fraserburgh (5) and finishes in Culter Village Hall on Saturday 6.
