DORIC Books is set to host an event with a former football to promote the launch of their new children's book.

Former footballer Rose Reilly, who played for Scotland and Italy, will appear at the event, which will take place at Aberdeen Sports Village on March 2.

Denis Law said: “My friends and family have always been so supportive to me throughout my life.

"I’ll never forget how important football was to me growing up on Printfield Terrace, so hopefully the likes of this book and the work of our charity, the Denis Law Legacy Trust, will encourage young people into sport."

Rose Reilly described the book as “awesome, beautiful work”.

The event will begin at 7pm and end at 8.30pm and is open to the public. It will include an exclusive interview and Q&A session with Rose Reilly.

Doric Books was set up in 2021 by Aaron Gale, from Huntly, and Jackie Ross. The two share the same passion for the Doric language.

They have published many children’s books in Doric to promote the teaching of the dialect in schools in the north-east of Scotland.
