Owner Steve Macdonald saw the idea online as he was looking through the internet to see what other countries in Europe were doing to start up again, to gather any ideas and offer a safe space for families to eat out.

As the domes are coming from Holland, owner Steve hopes to have them by the start of July.

He explained: "The domes are in manufacture over in Holland, so we are waiting for a confirmed shipping date but these domes aren't like any of the other ones you see going about.

“These are very similar to a modern airliner's air conditioning to the air purifies every three to five minutes”

“ I'm hoping we can have the domes here for the start of July, but there's a bit of work to obviously be done to get them installed.

“As soon as they arrive we hope to get them up as quickly as possible”

The domes are already proved a draw for many local families as The Square have had lot's of enquiries since they put up a video online and have since had to put out a general message ensuring everyone they will issue more information soon.

They are still hoping to operate their beer garden menu under safe social distancing rules and guidance and are focussing the dome menu towards more of a tasting menu.

As the ongoing pandemic has had a massive impact on the hotel, the staff have done their best to help out in the community.

Owner Steve commented: “All our room bookings and restaurant booking disappeared within about a day but we turned that situation around, instead of sitting back and waiting to see what was happening we had to continue to try and support the community we are in so we transformed the restaurant into a community store offering fresh produce because we were still getting supplies from fruit and veg suppliers and what have you, so that was all coming in as normal.

"So we operated the restaurant as a shop and we also donated all of our hotel rooms to NHS.

“We've had doctors and medics staying with us recently, we have tried to do something, so we didn't just shut the door.
